El Nuevo Día Orlando Reports a Successful 2007

Miami, FL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE – PR NEWSWIRE)--January 29, 2008--El Nuevo Día Orlando, the only Spanish language daily newspaper in Central Florida, reports a successful 2007 in advertising sales and circulation. In spite of a challenging year for the economy, El Nuevo Día experienced a 28% growth in overall advertising sales compared to 2006. The classifieds section alone had 90% increase in sales. “We are extremely pleased with the results for 2007. Our record in sales for November, the month with the highest advertising sales in our five years of publication, reflects the trust of the community in our product and the commitment of our sales team,” said Jaime Segura, General Manager of El Nuevo Día. “The offering of new products such as the Don Quijote Awards magazine, El Nuevo Día’s 1st Immigration and Health Fair and the Hispanic Business Expo 2007 supplement, the largest published to date with over 64 pages, provide our clients with additional alternatives to reach the Hispanic community in Central Florida that will ultimately enhance their results,” added Segura.

New strategic plans in circulation resulted in additional growth in 2007. Growth in circulation is largely attributed to the final roll out of the controlled free distribution system that was implemented during the 4th Quarter of 2006. The controlled free distribution system, which included both home delivery and single copy, enabled the expansion to other areas in Central Florida by adding over 600 new distribution points. The controlled distribution method increased their reach in the Central Florida Hispanic community and has been of great benefit to both the consumers and the advertisers. El Nuevo Día’s agreement with the Orlando Sentinel to manage their home delivery distribution service also contributed to growth in circulation.

The Editorial Department and the new Arts & Design Department also experienced positive achievements during 2007. “This year we implemented innovative ideas and expanded coverage of topics important to the community. We also implemented the new Tactical Advertising Program, which consists of integrating the client’s ads into the editorial format without interrupting the editorial flow and re-designed the APRENDE section,” said Linda Hernández, Editor of El Nuevo Día. “We also received recognition from the Florida Society of Newspapers for Enterprise Reporting and Education Reporting which is a great honor to us,” added Hernández.

El Nuevo Día Orlando will continue to implement new initiatives for 2008 that will furthermore strengthen their commitment to the Hispanic Community in Central Florida. Some of these initiatives are:

-- Re-design and re-launch of the website endiorlando.com

-- Special section covering Elections 2008 both in Continental US & Puerto Rico

-- Celebration of 5th Anniversary of El Nuevo Día Orlando

-- Events: El Golazo de El Nuevo Día, 2nd Immigration and Health Fair, Festival Vida y Más

“Once again we want to thank our customers and advertisers for making El Nuevo Día Orlando the main source of local information for the Hispanic Community in Orlando and with their support we certainly hope to continue our positive growth trend in 2008,” concluded Segura.
