WHY
The surging Hispanic purchasing power, expected to reach $1 Trillion by 2010, makes the Hispanic market a key portal to success in today’s global marketplace. Hispanic achievements in business, government and community service, media and other enterprises have piqued the world’s interest. The proliferation of Hispanic‐owned small businesses set new bench‐marks as the number grew by 82% during the last decade. Given these notable achievements, at issue is the fact that Hispanic‐owned businesses are all but invisible in corporate and government contracting arenas. USHCC Region V Chair Ed Diaz describes the HB2B Trade Fair in this way: “We’re committed to advancing a strong Hispanic business presence in every area of commerce. Accomplishing that goal is inextricably linked to our leadership in promoting our own successes and in advancing strong Hispanic business collaborative partnerships, backed by state‐of‐the art technology and information. Demonstrating this impressive portfolio of Hispanic business achievements is our way of advocating equitable contracting opportunities for Hispanic‐owned businesses.”
