Popular DJ ‘El Pollo’ from KRZZ 93.3 La Raza in San Francisco begins a long journey to please his audience
San Francisco, CA--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--December 7, 2007--Spanish Broadcasting System (NASDAQ: SBSA) announced today that popular DJ, Ricardo Martinez “El Pollo,” from the afternoon drive at KRZZ 93.3 LA RAZA, started a 45 mille walking journey yesterday morning at 10 AM, from San Francisco to San Jose as part of a lost bet between him and his audience.
El Pollo publicly made this bet on the air regarding the Interclub Championship game, “El America” from Mexico City vs. “Arcenal” from Argentina. He lost the gamble and now has to walk from KRZZ 93.3 La Raza’s studio on Market Street in San Francisco to Story Rd. and S. King Rd in San Jose, the heart of the Latino community.
The journey began with Pollo walking along Mission St., to El Camino Real. He will then continue on to Story and King in San Jose. Along the walk he will be asking for donations for the Multicultural Institute that is directed by a Franciscan religious organization based in Oakland, which serves Bay Area needy families.
With the assistance of Father Rigoberto Caloca from St. Elizabeth and St. Ambros Church, this organization offers many services including English classes, free medical services, and help with immigration for day laborers in the Oakland area.
“El Pollo” celebrated his birthday on December the 6th, just when he started his long trip. Along the way to be awake he is been interpreting the famous song that describes his adventure…I have been away so long. I may go wrong and lose my way. Do you know the way to San Jose?
