The national Hispanic health campaign, “Celebra La Vida Con Salud” (Celebrate A Healthy Life) makes a stop in Denver this weekend as part of its six-city Spring 2007 health festival tour. Celebra equips Hispanics with information on illness prevention and health promotion for illnesses disproportionately impacting the Hispanic community.

Celebra also offers festival participants free medical screenings for HIV/AIDS, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and BMI.

WHAT:
Celebra La Vida Con Salud - National Hispanic Health Campaign and Festival

WHEN:
Saturday, June 9
11:00AM – 4:00PM

WHERE:
Derby Daze
Monaco St. and E. 72nd Place
Commerce City, CO 80022

WHY:
Hispanics have disproportionately high rates of several major illnesses and diseases, including HIV/AIDS, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and obesity, as well as and some types of cancers, including cervical cancer.

The Celebra health festival addresses these health issues and provides information about national and local consumer resources available to Hispanics in Denver.
