The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) will host its 3rd annual Leadership Award gala on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. This year, CHLI presents its CHLI Leadership in Public Service Award to former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives J. Dennis Hastert and the CHLI Leadership in International Relations Award to IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato. These awards are given to individuals for their outstanding leadership in upholding democratic values both in the United States and abroad. Other speakers at the event include Congressman Joe Baca, Congressman Mike McIntire and CHLI Chairman Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart.
