Portland, ME--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--March 30, 2007--The temperature in Houston is rising early this year as Expo Comida Latina Texas comes back to the George R. Brown Convention Center on April 23th and 24th for the second year to give foodservice, retail and distribution professionals an opportunity to get a fresh look at the newest and freshest ideas and products in the Hispanic food and beverage industry.

Hispanic foods are more popular than ever! According to AC Nielsen, sales of Hispanic foods have been a leading driver in the U.S. ethnic food market for the last four years reaching $3.2 billion, up 3.5 percent from a year earlier. Tortillas and Mexican salsas and sauces alone account for nearly $2 billion in 2006.

“We are all excited in anticipation of this year’s show in Houston again. Last year, Expo Comida Latina was a hit in town bringing all the business leaders into one forum to network, explore new flavors and develop business leads and we look forward to another successful event,” says Brian Randall, vice president of the Cultural Food Group at Diversified Business Communications.

This year, Expo Comida Latina celebrates their theme, “Get Informed. Get Inspired. Get Ahead,” by introducing stellar educational sessions with Sandra Pineau from Continental Airlines, Stephanie Bazan from Cadbury Schweppes, Greg Hernandez of Aramark and “How to do Business in the USA” from Bancomext.

But Expo Comida Latina Texas would not be complete without the spice and flavor of its culinary sessions. Celebrity chef, Chef LaLa (Laura Diaz-Brown), will keep the Culinary Demonstration Theater sizzling with a powerful line-up of guests chefs including La Fiesta Grande Restaurant owners Chef Roy Bara and Chef Betty Bara, food expert Cleverley Stone from “The Cleverley Show,” and Downtown Bulter’s owner Chef Christopher Sanchez.
