New York, NY--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--September 30, 2005--Volkswagen’s Rhyme, Rhythm and Risas Tour kicked off this past Wednesday at New York City’s historic Roseland Ballroom, with captivating performances by John Leguizamo, comedian Pablo Francisco, spoken word artists La Bruja (Caridad de la Cruz) and Gritos de Poeta, and the GRAMMY-nominated Latin fusion band Yerba Buena.

Volkswagen’s Rhyme Rhythm & Risas tour is the first promotion of its kind combining the entertainment genres of Latino spoken word, live music and comedy performances under one roof in a series of events taking place in the New York, Chicago and Miami markets.


“We wanted to show our appreciation to the Latino community by offering this series of incredibly entertaining, unique events featuring some of the hottest Latino talent available today,” said John Gasloli, Volkswagen’s Multicultural marketing manager. “This is our first in-market grassroots promotional activity aimed at the Hispanic market, and we are very excited to be able to celebrate who we are with our Latino drivers.”

The next two stops of Volkswagen’s Rhyme, Rhythm and Risas tour are:

Chicago, Ill - Thursday, October 6: Performances from spoken word artists La Bruja and Kristiana Colon, comedy by Pablo Francisco and a live musical performance by GRAMMY-nominated Ozomatli.

Miami, FL - Friday, November 4: Performances from spoken word artists La Bruja and Deborah Magdalena, comedy by Pablo Francisco and a live musical performance by GRAMMY-nominated Ozomatli.
