NEW YORK, June 14 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- The Fundacion de Empresarias Hispanas officially launched the campaign "Flor de Papel: For a Society without Violence" on Thursday, May 13th in the Met Life building in New York City. The social awareness initiative aims to be the voice self-imposed violence against the body and emotions, as well as the non-acceptance of their reality that compromises the health of all individuals and families. "Flor de Papel" is a social awareness campaign through visual art, created and developed by artists, celebrities, students and civil community in general.
Jacqueline Montoya, Executive Director of Fundacion Empresarias Hispanas (www.empresariashispanasusa.org) stated, "Flor de Papel aims to spread the word about the negative effects of violence through cultural events and highlight this reality that excludes us and seeks to generate awareness about all forms of physical, sexual, emotional, gender and voice against the physical and emotional abuse suffered by women, men and children."

"Flor de Papel" invites the community to paint for this initiative. The Coalition for the Heart of Corona and Corona Action Network will host a day of gastronomy, history and culture in Corona, Queens. Tours guided by artists will take attendees through the various dining options in the neighborhood at lunchtime, and evening tours will feature historical sites, as well as through locations in Corona that demonstrates the neighborhood's culture and diversity.

The event will show the public the paintings created by the Queens community for the "Flor de Papel" campaign and "Viernes de Pasaporte," which is an event of music and performances, with stories of Hip-Hop music from Ecuador and Colombia, and is an activity that will be devoted to exploring what teens can create with music.
