New York, NY--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--December 11, 2007 - State Farm Insurance today announced the expansion of its recruiting efforts to include entrepreneurial, bilingual professionals, highlighting the success of their recruiting efforts within the Hispanic community to date.

Rey Polanco, a field recruiter with State Farm Insurance commented, "working with Hispanic agents is a crucial part of our success and strengthens our relationships and ties to the Hispanic community that are essential. Our latest recruiting efforts will not be limited to the outer boroughs of New York, identifying bilingual professionals in Manhattan is a top priority for us in the year ahead."

State Farm's benchmarks for success this year are punctuated by strong and productive alliances with top Hispanic organizations such as Hispanic Professionals Networking Group (HPNG), the Association of Hispanic Entrepreneurs and Latinos in Technology (LISTA). These alliances allow for access and added credibility within the Latino market and specifically the community.

Polanco adds, "this direction towards business ownership is why State Farm is the perfect vehicle for entrepreneurial Hispanics. It is reported that Latino-owned businesses in the United States, which currently stand at 1.6 million have increased 31 percent between 1997 and 2002 (compared to the overall national average of 10 percent for U.S.-owned businesses).

"Corporate recruitment of Hispanic professionals has not slowed down, but entrepreneurship is the next wave of employment options for Latinos." Polanco concluded.

The next New York City event will be held on Thursday, December 13th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the State Farm NYC Field Office, 2 Rector Street, 9th Floor, Wall Street District. The event is free, but pre-registration is required.
