Annual Hispanic Media Awards Announces National Call for Nominations

San Antonio, TX--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--January 15, 2007--The Hispanic Media Awards recognizing the nation’s most influential Spanish-language journalists is seeking nominations for its annual awards dinner on May 24th, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. The awards are being presented by On the Edge Promotions in partnership with Hispanic PR Wire.

“The event has historically been a great success as we recognize individuals across the country who have worked extraordinarily hard for their readers, viewers, and listeners,” said Chris Day, CEO of On The Edge Promotions, owner of the Hispanic Media programs. “Journalists have been honored from all regions in the United States. We look forward to this year’s being as diverse and are again seeking nominations of journalists from across the country from all facets of the media industry.”

The Hispanic Media Awards represents the highest ideals and execution of Spanish-language and bi-lingual journalism. Each year nominees are screened by a distinguished nationwide panel of judges and honored at a gala dinner. In addition to the awards, the program will induct one new member into the Hispanic Media Awards Ring of Honor. This award pays homage to members of the Spanish-language media – both past and present – whose careers offered visionary leadership and paved the way for today’s media professionals.

Ring of Honor nominees can be living or deceased. All nominees for the Hispanic Media Awards must do at least a portion of their work in Spanish and be currently active in their profession. Valid mediums include radio, television, print, and internet media outlets. Nominees may not be active in political campaigns or specifically represent a political party, PAC, or other politically affiliated group. To submit a nomination, you may email nominate@hispanicmediaawards.com. Nominations must include the nominees name, title, contact information as well as contact information for the person submitting the nomination. Please include a brief bio outlining their contributions to the Spanish-language media profession. Additional information will be collected upon receipt of initial nomination.

A portion of the proceeds from the dinner will go toward providing scholarship funds.
