Press information now more readily available to Hispanic media

Philadelphia, PA--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--May 14, 2007--The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC) today announced the addition of a Hispanic section to’s online pressroom, a 24/7 global news source for media. En Español, accessible from the homepage of the pressroom, contains press releases written in Spanish about Philadelphia’s blockbuster exhibitions, seasonal activities, special events and more.

According to The Pew Charitable Trusts’ annual State of the Media 2007 report, “Hispanics in emerging communities tend to rely more on Spanish-language outlets.” The report also asserts that “in 2005 Spanish-language print outlets had an estimated readership of more than 17.6 million – an all-time high.”

“We want to make it as easy as possible for Spanish-speaking journalists to write about all there is to see and do in Philadelphia,” said Meryl Levitz, president & CEO, GPTMC.

The En Español section on the pressroom is one of several recent enhancements to this particular portion of The addition of RSS feeds; downloadable, high-resolution photographs; and b-roll video vignettes are making the site a one-stop shop for journalists working on a Philadelphia story.
