SUR, SUR Mexico and TeleFórmula Only Networks Bringing Live Mexican Election Coverage to the U.S.

Miami, FL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--June 30, 2006--The Canal SUR Corporation (SUR, SUR Mexico, SUR Peru and TV Venezuela networks) joins forces with TeleFórmula, the number one rated news channel in Mexico, to bring its Hispanic American subscribers exclusive, live all-day coverage of the July 2nd Mexican elections on its SUR and SUR Mexico networks. SUR and SUR Mexico will be the only networks in the U.S. to air coverage of the Mexican elections. Live coverage begins at 2:30 PM EST.

“Canal SUR’s mission is to preserve the rich Latin culture for its current Hispanic American viewers and future generations, keeping them informed and entertained by re-broadcasting top news and entertainment content from the highest rated and highest regarded stations in Mexico, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean,” states Canal SUR CEO Arturo Delgado.

“It is only natural for Canal SUR to partner with TeleFórmula to bring our viewers coverage of the Hispanic elections,” explains Condista Founder and Partner Jorge Fiterre, “especially when no other networks in the U.S. allows Hispanic Americans to witness coverage of election proceedings from their homelands first-hand.” The Canal SUR and TeleFórmula networks are represented in the U.S. by Condista.

Canal SUR and TeleFórmula partnered earlier this month for the first time allowing SUR to televise the Mexican presidential debate live. The debate was followed by analysis from some of Mexico’s most prestigious journalists and commentators.
