We are Dallas. We Are America.

As Latino leaders nationwide work to turn energy from the immigration marches into power at the polls, the new study shows how Dallas is central to the challenges and opportunities faced by the community. (Excerpts available in advance.)
The NALEO Convention
The national political spotlight will shine on Dallas next month when about 1,000 Latino leaders gather here for the annual NALEO convention, generally seen as the most important Latino political event of the year. The conference opens June 22. Details on press arrangements and the conference agenda will be available at the press conference June 1.
Representing thousands of Latino elected officials nationwide, NALEO trains more elected officials each year than even Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Some 43 states have elected Latinos to positions of leadership. Participants in the NALEO convention include Members of Congress, the heads of both the Democratic and the Republican National Committees and local leaders such as Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Elba Garcia and Councilmember Steve Salazar.
