The nation's benchmark forum on minority supplier development will bring together Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business owners, corporate minority supplier development professionals, purchasing executives and corporate decision-makers for four days at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

The event is co-hosted by the Louisiana Minority Supplier Development Council, one of NMSDC's 38 regional councils, and was held in the Crescent City in 2000.

It is my hope that the conference and business opportunity fair will have a positive impact on the minority business community there, and expose our corporate members to outstanding minority suppliers from Louisiana and other states

"We are pleased to bring our signature event back to New Orleans," said NMSDC President Harriet R. Michel. "Strong minority businesses can play a significant role in this country's economic recovery. It is my hope that the conference and business opportunity fair will have a positive impact on the minority business community there, and expose our corporate members to outstanding minority suppliers from Louisiana and other states."

The theme of this year's conference is "Minority Businesses and Corporate America: A Recipe for Success." The event kicks off on Monday, October 26th with a one-day Business Opportunity Fair that will feature more than 850 corporate and minority business exhibit booths. Tuesday and Wednesday are packed with a full slate of 32 targeted workshops and plenary sessions led by a roster of speakers that includes chief executive officers from the nation's leading corporations, respected authorities on the corporate minority supplier development, government officials, and corporate purchasing professionals.

The conference will culminate on Wednesday evening with an Awards Banquet to honor the Corporation of the Year, Suppliers of the Year, Minority Supplier Development Leader of the Year and Council of the Year.
