July, 20, 2009 - 04:11 PM / ETTijuana Newspaper, Zeta Tijuana, Releases Detailed List of Day Care Center Owners and Their Total Earnings; Interchildren, Inc. Calls for Newspaper Boycott
TIJUANA, Mexico, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The following press release is being issued by Interchildren, Inc. In the aftermath of a horrific incident which occurred in Hermosillo, Mexico, where 40+ children perished in a childcare center fire, Mexican news, media and the government have created a war against childcare facility owners throughout Mexico.
Zeta Tijuana, which normally goes after corrupt politicians, drug lords and the underworld, has now thrown childcare owners into the same category. "The irresponsible editing of Zeta Tijuana, in my opinion, should be boycotted and reprimanded," exclaims Mr. Eli Grey, co-owner of Interchildren, Inc. an international childcare consulting and development group, and a childcare center owner on both sides of the border in San Diego. "While much of the information is available to the public, disclosing income totals along with names turns these good families into immediate targets for kidnappers in the underworld."
In a report published by Zeta Tijuana on July the 10th, 2009, then again in a more detailed article published on July 17th, 2009, the names, earnings and numbers of centers owned by a select group of child care families in Baja California were disclosed. "These families have dedicated their lives to caring for the children of Tijuana while their parents work. These centers are known for strict regulations, outstanding educational programs, first-class nutritional programs and impeccable safety. These day care centers are single-handedly responsible for an increase in productivity at the Maquiladoras, which drives increased revenues for the state of Baja California," claims Grey.
Grey went on to suggest; "Tijuana is known to some as a town riddled with gangs, drug lords, corruption, childhood prostitution, smuggling and unimaginable crimes, why would a newspaper do this to one of the few remaining good businesses in Baja California? It is my belief and opinion, that this newspaper has committed a heinous act against humanity in publishing this article and must be held accountable."
Interchildren, Inc. is calling for an international boycott against unjust and irresponsible reporting, beginning with Zeta Tijuana, "There is an alleged drug and kidnapping war going on in Mexico, the media have now thrown women and children into the line of fire. This can not go unanswered."
