NATIONAL CITY, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- The Board of Directors of InterAmerican College (IAC), a Hispanic serving institution of higher learning established in 1997, has entered into a definitive agreement with Educación Significativa, LLC, an affiliate of San Diego-based SignificantFederation, LLC, to form a unique strategic alliance to further the mission of the founders to provide high quality teacher education and nursing degrees.

The agreement is subject to regulatory review and approval, which may require several months to complete. Terms of the agreement were not released.

We love the fact that we can help people live better lives by providing high quality regionally accredited degrees that touch humans in the classroom and the bedside

San Diego-based Dr. Michael K. Clifford, Founding Chairman of SignificantFederation, LLC, said InterAmerican College will continue its long-time mission of providing professional and pre-professional education to working adults, specifically focusing on the Hispanic population, both immigrant and native born, although not all students are Hispanic. Several job openings are available at the school (and in other areas) and are posted at http://significantfederation.com/education-professionals/.

States Clifford, "The Founders, President Reymundo and Dra. María Viramontes de Marín, have successfully implemented what they call the la familia model student support system. This system provides a unique learning environment and process encompassing academic rigor, personal attention, and high motivation and the creation of a nurturing environment. This approach makes InterAmerican College uniquely successful in serving their particular target population niche."

Clifford is an education entrepreneur, a highly regarded principal investor in six accredited institutions. "We love the fact that we can help people live better lives by providing high quality regionally accredited degrees that touch humans in the classroom and the bedside," Clifford noted. "And California is in dire need of bilingual school teachers and nurses with excellent skills."
Working from his offices in Solana Beach, California, Clifford's sole focus is his passion for higher education to provide better access with lower tuition. Over the past decade, Clifford has been the quiet architect of six turnarounds at numerous urban and Christian institutions, including Chancellor University in Cleveland, OH (http://www.chancelloru.edu); and Grand Canyon University (Nasdaq: LOPE) in Phoenix, AZ (http://www.gcu.edu), among others.

Clifford works closely with all regulatory agencies to constantly improve academic rigor with each of his investments. Clifford is considered one of the world's thought leaders regarding education. He is the founder of the predecessor of San Diego-based Bridgepoint Education (http://www.bridgepointeducation.com), a company that is now a blockbuster holding company that filed its S-1 for an IPO on December 22, 2008. GCU was the first regionally accredited non-profit university to convert to a for profit company in American history. GCU was the most successful IPO in 2008. Bridgepoint promises to be the candidate for the same in 2009, according to Clifford.

"I was keenly attracted to InterAmerican College because the founders were the first and only educators to write a text book on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights in Spanish. Many complain about our immigration issues, but these folks had the vision over fifteen years ago that the Hispanic immigrants would become one of America's most valuable assets, just as the Italian, Irish, and German immigrants before them. InterAmerican College is becoming the educational bridge between the Americas to help all understand the importance of our precious democracy."

Clifford's website is http://www.SignificantFederation.com. SignificantFederation LLC is a contributor to charitable organizations involved in providing educational resources to economically deprived individuals.
