OAK BROOK, Ill., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- McDonald's is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its one and only Chicken McNuggets with the launch of Nuggnuts.com -- an online fan community devoted to celebrating Chicken McNuggets enthusiasts. Launched today, the site celebrates serious McNuggets fans through an exclusive Hall of Fame and invites fans to share their love through a Nuggnuts Pledge and branded merchandise.

"McDonald's Chicken McNuggets have a vocal and enthusiastic fan base," said Marta Fearon, director of marketing for McDonald's USA. "We knew there was no better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chicken McNuggets than by embracing these fans and inviting them to share their passion with others."

Added to McDonald's national U.S. menu in 1983 with a "McNugget Mania" advertising campaign, Chicken McNuggets have become a customer favorite worldwide. Following their global introduction in Canada, France, Germany and Japan in 1984, Chicken McNuggets are currently sold in more than 100 countries.

McDonald's customers can join other Chicken McNuggets fans online in learning the Nuggnuts Pledge on Nuggnuts.com or by sending an e-mail through the Web site explaining why they should be considered for the Hall of Fame. Additionally, fans will get an opportunity to submit videos and photos and post comments to the Nuggnuts Facebook group also launching today.

McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are made with quality white meat chicken and contain zero grams of trans fat per serving. McDonald's also offers a variety of other quality chicken options including Premium Chicken Sandwiches and Salads, as well as Snack Wraps.

Starting in December, McDonald's will be featured on the National Chicken Council's consumer Web site, http://www.eatchicken.com , as part of a "Showcase of Chicken" feature on McDonald's.
