MIAMI, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- The Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce ("Spain US Chamber of Commerce") announces today that they are hosting their annual gala dinner at the Four Seasons, Miami on Friday, November 14, 2008 starting at 8 p.m. Celebrating Spanish merit in the United States, the event recognizes the accomplishment of Spanish-based companies and professionals throughout the country. Spain US Chamber of Commerce has facilitated the strengthening of businesses, investments and cultural ties between Spain and the United States and each year honors two individuals and a company with the Universal Spaniard award and the 2008 Company of the Year award.

"The Universal Spaniard recipients and the 2008 Company of the Year award recipient are candidates chosen for their outstanding professional contributions as Spaniards in the United States," said Jose Luis Esteve, President of Spain US Chamber of Commerce. "It is with great honor that we present these awards, it is a reflection of the continual growth of our presence in this land of opportunity."

Notable guests attending the evening gala include Jose Luis Esteve, President of Spain US Chamber of Commerce; recipient of the 2008 Company of the Year award, Mr. Jose Manuel Martinez, President of MAPFRE, the largest insurance company in Spain; recipient of the Universal Spaniards award in the science sector, Dr. Valentin Fuster, MD, PHD; and two-time Grammy and 15-time Latin Grammy award-winner Alejandro Sanz, in the arts sector. Other businesses and personalities invited to attend are a select group of 450 diplomats, entrepreneurs, law firms, bankers, and more.

The evening will begin with a red carpet arrival and cocktail reception followed by a three-course sit-down dinner. Speeches and a recognitions ceremony will follow, which will close with dancing and a surprise performance by a Spanish pop-artist.
